Miniature making is where I let my imagination flourish. I got hooked on the craft after discovering Bently House Minis on YouTube and realizing miniature houses didn't have to be frilly and Victorian, they could be dark, moody, and a little unsettling, closer to the Addams Family than a dollhouse.

I love scratch-building. Whatever the piece calls for, wood for a furniture frame, cardboard and paper, even scraps that most people would call trash, I want to make it myself. I do have a 3D printer, but I save it for the rare pieces I can't create by hand, because building from scratch is what makes a piece feel real to me.

What excites me most is starting with a blank canvas and finding the story hiding in it. One of my favourite builds is a Victorian mansion staged as a 1970s House & Garden photo shoot: the interior beautifully redecorated for the camera, the exterior left rundown and crumbling. I love that kind of juxtaposition, the tension between what's shown and what's hidden.

For me, miniature work is storytelling in its purest form, proportion and detail matter as much as imagination, and every small space becomes a world with its own history.
